The Features of Rotary Kiln Calcined Bauxite

1. High refractory performance
The refractory degree of calcined bauxite  can reach above 1780℃, which is suitable for high-temperature industrial applications, such as refractory bricks, castables, etc.

High Al₂O₃ content (usually 50%~90%) and low impurity content (such as Fe₂O₃, SiO₂), which improves high temperature resistance.

2. Good volume stability
After high-temperature calcination (usually 1200~1600℃), bauxite clinker has low shrinkage and excellent volume stability, reducing the risk of cracking during high-temperature use.

3. High mechanical strength
The mineral phases after calcination are mainly corundum (α-Al₂O₃) and mullite (3Al₂O₃·2SiO₂), with dense structure, high compressive strength and good wear resistance.

4. Strong chemical stability
Resistant to acid and alkali erosion, suitable for high-corrosion environments in metallurgy, cement, chemical industry and other industries.

5. Controllable porosity
By adjusting the calcination temperature and time, the porosity of the clinker can be controlled to meet the needs of different applications (such as high-density refractory materials or lightweight insulation materials).

6. Low loss on ignition (LOI)
After calcination, moisture and volatile matter are basically removed (loss on ignition <1%), avoiding the generation of gas and cracking of the material during subsequent high-temperature use.

7. Uniform particle size and easy processing
The clinker calcined in the rotary kiln is uniform in block shape, and the particle size distribution after crushing is controllable, which is convenient for subsequent grinding or brick making.

Main uses
Refractory materials: high-alumina bricks, castables, refractory cement, etc.

Ceramic industry: wear-resistant ceramics, electronic ceramic substrates.

Metallurgical industry: steelmaking furnace lining, ladle lining.

Chemical industry: catalyst carrier, adsorbent.

The products produced by the bauxite rotary kiln have become important raw materials for refractory materials and high-temperature industries due to their high purity, high temperature resistance, and good stability.
